PDF File Types

  • PDF X – it is best for preserving graphics & images
  • PDF A – it is best for Archiving for long term storage and data preservation, so it doesnt corrupt over time. I can attest that other Adobe PDFs degrade to the point of being unable to open, maybe by design. I suggest all of your PDF’s be made into PDF-A version and kept in a subfolder called ‘bak’
  • Press Quality – it is the highest quality for print
  • Smallest Size – Web viewing, text not selectable
