Clean Boot

Step 1:

  • Run… msconfig
  • General Tab
    • Clear:
      • Process SYSTEM.INI File
      • Process WIN.INI File
      • Load Startup Items
    • Select:
      • Load System Services
      • Use Original BOOT.INI
  • Services Tab
    • Check
      • “Hide all Microsoft Services”
      • “Disable All”
  • Click Apply, then OK
  • Restart

If that doest fix start up problem….

Step 2: (Deletes all System Restore Points)

  • Run… msconfig
    • General Tab
      • Clear:
        • Load System Services (Everything is now cleared for Step 2)
      • Select:
        • Use Original BOOT.INI (Should already be selected as before)
      • Click Apply, then OK
      • Restart

Step 3: (Restore System After Clean Reboot)

  • Run… msconfig
    • General Tab
      • Normal Startup – load all device drivers and services
    • Click Apply, then OK
    • Restart
